About
Greetings, and welcome to the blog of Alan Waldron, a Pittsburgh-based web applications developer.
With over twelve years of in-depth experience applying creative design to the principles of information architecture, I produce stylish and innovative websites and applications developed using industry standard tools and tested for browser compatibility, usability and accessibility.
I have a broad range of experience spanning many different technical and creative tools. My preferred architecture is LAMP; that is Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. In addition, I have in-depth expertise building PHP/JQuery/AJAX applications on top of Oracle databases.
Other technologies I am familiar with, but not expert at, include: PL/SQL, Ruby, Perl, ASP and ColdFusion.
I enjoy designing my projects in Photoshop, and know my way around Illustrator and Flash.
Personally, I am 29 years old, married with one beautiful three-year-old daughter. I’m a hockey player and die-hard Penguins fan. My family loves outdoor activities such as biking, hiking and kayaking and even some camping here and there. Last, I guess I’m one of the lucky few who considers their career a hobby.
